When you focus on individual schemes returns, it is easy to miss the entire growth curve of your portfolio.
Instead look at the whole portfolio return to see how it has grown. Has your money increased in total?
While reading statements, investors can evaluate how much closer the portfolio returns has brought them closer to their goals.
I would appreciate the approach of not showing the scheme returns but rather the portfolio returns ... but the intent here is we have done a portfolio allocation and it’s the entire mix that gives the right balance to the portfolio But I don’t agree to the point ... of not showing the portfolio returns ... by doing that you are blinding the investor... the Advisor can easily hide lot of inefficiency of his Advisory in this ... Hence never just focus on portfolio value and but on portfolio returns also ... both go hand in hand to give investor to know reality and at the same time to know what rate is growing... I am surprised that wealth forum is praising and promoting such old concepts... which takes you back 20 years ...
