First of all thanks for the lucid conversation on credit risk. I absolutely agree with the fund manager that the ratings by rating agencies should not be taken at its face value. The fund manager and its team have their own process to follow. My request to the fund manager is, then why they do not disclose their ratings in the fact sheet ? or at least when the RM comes to meet the advisor, they should discuss their ratings rather than showing ratings disclosed in the fact sheet. It does not convey the actual strength behind investing in particular paper by the fund manager. If it can not be made public, it should be with the RM every time they come to discuss the debt funds and especially in cases where in spite of the higher ratings by the rating agencies, the fund manager is thinking otherwise.
