Women’s attitudes towards money and investing are changing for the better not just in metros but in smaller cities like Belgaum as well as rural areas around it. They are born savers, but now they are also keen learners on investing and are quite willing to participate in family financial discussions and sometimes even lead these discussions. This is a big opportunity for MFDs who capitalize on this growing trend.
While men have some inhibitions about showing their lack of financial knowledge – especially to women distributors, women investors have no such issues. They are keen learners, ask questions and make sure they understand all the concepts you teach them.
Datta and Anita run their firm jointly and find no significant preferences about women investors preferring to engage only with women distributors. Any distributor – male or female – who is willing to commit time to patiently take them through their learning curve, is a welcome guide for them.
