As per my nformation Refresher course is not Compulsory for Renewalof ARN. ARN HOLDER can appear for 1 hour Examination without attending Refreshar Course. Can some Freinds confirm it. P.C.Sharma

Thanks! Yet the Refresher course should be conducted in all cities and towns. With all available technology this is not more easy to conduct symulltaniously in number of cities and reduce cost per participant. On one side SEBI expects penitration of inductry through small town to villages, while on other hand do not take initiative to facilitate all town level updatation and awareness amoungst intermidiaries and other statke holders. Every year we are giving self declaration . Refresher course is meaningless. I am past 9 years selling mutual fund. Market sentiments and personal relation are the key to sell any financial product. Sebi and Amfi forced us to spend some money for nothing.

HIGH THANKS for your uodate & current information.. SEBI has very cumbersome rules formulated, which are now obsolete. One such is a distributor canot invest his own investment under his code: has to look for cross investments. SEBI to review this decision.

This is good news. Thank you Amfi & Sebi. Indeed 5 years ago we had only 1 day refresher course. I agree with R P Bansal from Narwana that the card validity should be 5 years and the charge should be same Rs.500 as it was in the past, because firstly, not all IFAs are earning so much money. and secondly because the commission has been reduced drastically from 2% to 0.5%. I sincerely hope Amfi and Sebi are listening and will agree to our reasonable requests. Thanks.

it is good news that SEBI has heard the voice of advisers.SEBI is requested to exempt SENIOR CITIZEN ADVISERS from the REFRESHER COURSE.

If it will be possible, I will be thakfull for that to AMFI & SEBI . If the refesher course term will be reduce to one day & the fees too is reduced to Rs. 1800/- all ARN holder will be thankfull. I think the one day refresher course term is enough for us.

My ARN is due for renewal on 30th Sept 2013. I am looking for CPE training program in Bangalore . I like to attend at the earliest as I understand Issue of certificate will take at least a month. To my knowledge I am not finding any program being conducted at Bangalore

I would like to put one more problem to get solution. My ARN was scheduled to expire on 29th March,13 and I got registered foe CIEL/NISM for CPE for 22-23 March,13 but due to accident I was hospitalised on 22nd March and could not attend CPE. I have all documentary proof of registration and hospital treatment record. In the exceptional circumstances what will happen to my ARN renewal. Will AMFI give me other chance to attend CPE as a special case even after expiry of my ARN validity? What is the other option to continue distribution business.

It is nice to hear the refresher course term is cut to one day and the fee is slashed to 1800. But regular refresher courses must be conducted by the fund houses to enabling the ARNs to enroll and complete the formalities before the license expiry date of ARN. Thanks to you and to SEBI. It is still surprising that an individual who is in the business for the last 20 years need to attend refresher course for renewal of ARN and pay the fees. As it is distributors are not interested in selling mutual funds because of low income. In case of ARN expiry the AMCs hold the brokerage and the distributors who has done so much has to suffer.Also what about Sr, Citizens.

Feels relieved, indeed it''s a great move, but I am failed to understand that those who did it for 2 days very recently might not be happy, also why SEBI makes such irrelevant rules to amend them every now and then. I think more of regulations and getting cleaned up environment only for IFA''s doesn''t makes any sense. What about corporate ARN. They commit all the things(HSBC precisely) and all individuals suffer(abolishing entry loads). Today an IFA is sitting without business due to them.

Pl clarify for ARN Renewal, if (proprietory firm run by) a Senior Citizen qualify NISM Series VA MF Distributor Exam, does the AMFI/SEBI still wants the Senior Citizen to attend the refresher program and insist. Logically "NO'' but you never know these guys. Also why they use Senior Citizen term for Refresher Course when it is available to all?

Thanks to sebi and congrats to fellow arn holders. Yesterday only we were discussing that the refresher course should be reduced to one day and when we have compleated 2 days on 30/31 at kanpur. Any way good news... but one more step that it should be ONLINE COURSE.
