Overall, the trend is expected to remain positive as long as the Nifty 50 holds all key moving averages. If it holds 23,400 on a closing basis going forward, it is likely to march toward the 23,800–24,000 zone. However, falling decisively below 23,400 could bring the bears into action, according to experts.

The Nifty 50 is likely to consolidate further, with immediate support at 23,400 (which coincides with the 200-day EMA). Below this level, the 23,200 mark is the next level to watch. On the upside, 23,800 is expected to remain a key hurdle.

A further rally toward 24,000 is possible only if the Nifty 50 decisively closes and sustains above 23,800. Until then, the consolidation may continue with support at the 23,500-23,400 levels, according to experts.

If the Nifty 50 decisively surpasses this zone, it can negate the lower highs-lower lows formation and open doors for the 24,000 and 24,200 levels. However, 23,400 (200-day EMA) is expected to act as support, according to experts.

Experts believe that the 23,400-23,500 range is expected to be an immediate resistance zone for the Nifty 50, as a decisive close above it could open doors to 23,800, the key hurdle (February swing low).

The sectors anticipated to lead the market rally in the near future include infrastructure and construction, healthcare, and information technology, said Nitin Aggarwal.

Around 130 equity mutual funds delivered double-digit losses to SIP investors in FY25, with some losing up to 34%. Samco, Motilal Oswal, and Quant Mutual Fund schemes were among the worst performers. Investors should assess risk appetite and goals before making investment decisions.

Milan Vaishnav, Founder of Gemstone Equity Research & Advisory Services, expects the Nifty to hold steady around the 21,900-22,000 range, which aligns with the 100-week moving average. On the upside, he anticipates the index may pause around the 23,000-23,150 zone.

The trend remains healthy and may drive the Nifty 50 toward the 23,000-23,100 zone in the upcoming sessions. However, in case of consolidation, support is placed at the 22,800-22,750 levels, experts said.

After a strong uptrend in the last two sessions, the benchmark index Nifty 50 might see some consolidation with a support level at 22,720, according to experts. As long as this support holds, the upward journey toward 23,000-23,400 cannot be ruled out in the upcoming sessions.

If the Nifty 50 extends its rally in the upcoming sessions, it may face resistance at 22,600-22,700. Sustaining above this zone could open doors for a strong uptrend toward 23,000. However, until the index trades below this zone, the consolidation may continue, with 22,300 acting as support, according to experts.

For long-term investors, this could be a great time to allocate fresh capital or rotate their investments into more favourable and mispriced pockets, said Ashwini Shami of OmniScience.

With the fall in India VIX to its lowest closing level of the current year, the Nifty 50 may see some rebound in the upcoming session. However, sustainability will be key to watch. Until the index gives a decisive and sustainable close above the 22,650-22,700 zone on the higher side, a major rally is unlikely, experts said.
